Yesterday was World Albinism Day. A day set aside to celebrate and appreciate the challenges confronted by persons living with Albinism.
One challenged folks with this condition face is poor vision. This is due to the fact that they lack Malanim in the eye.
However, an ophthalmologist, Dr Choksey Albinism is doing her bit to ensuring that people with this condition live fulfilling lives.
She renders ‘free ophthalmic services and photochromatic lenses to persons with albinism also paying for school fees for them especially from needy families.’
She revealed to BBC Africa that Albinism should not be a condition that should affect the lives of the victims, since there are solutions to some of these problems.
Watch her interview.
"My mission is to give a life of dignity to every person with albinism in the world."
