Eldrick Tont “Tiger” Wood, born December 30, 1975, was the son of an American Army Veteran and a Thai mother.

Tiger Wood is considered to be one of the greatest golfers of all time, ranking second in both major championships and PGA Tour wins, as well as holding numerous records in golf.

He was introduced to Golf at the age of two by his father. In 2006, Tiger became the youngest golfer to reach 50 victories at the age of 30.

Tiger Woods in 2000, signed a 5-year, $105 million contract extension with Nike which was the largest endorsing deal ever signed by an athlete at that time.

Despite his philanthropic efforts, Forbes estimated his net worth to be $600 million, making him the second richest “African American” behind only Oprah Winfrey in 2009.

On August 20, 2007, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver announced that Woods would be inducted into the California Hall of Fame.

Woods and his wife, Elin, got divorced on August 23, 2010, after it was discovered that the golfer was having affairs with several women and more than a dozen mistress.

Woods acknowledged his wrongdoings and apologized to his family members and fans.

This hiccups in his life affected his career, but he recently bounced back to win the Masters competition in April 2019 after winning the same trophy 14 years back. That was his first win in 11 years.

His success story will continue to be an inspiration to many today.
