Boko Haram terrorist group started as a disgruntled group of people who only want the attention of the government on some certain religious issues
However, for ten years, they have unleashed mayhem on the Nigerian people.
The Islamic militant group became a terrorist organization when Mohammed Yusuf, was killed in police custody.
The activities of the group lead to the loss of about 30,000 lives and caused two million people to be displaced in the north-east region of the country.
BBC Nigeria correspondent Mayeni Jones examines the roots of the militant group, its rise to global infamy and whether it will remain a force in the region in the next decade.
