Obtaining U.S Visa May Become More Difficult For Nigerians, Africans, Report Says

The United States government under the leadership of President Donald Trump is making plans to implement new restrictions on legal immigration to target countries whose citizens overstay short-term visitor visas.

According to the Wall Street Journal, countries like Nigeria, Chad, Eritrea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone will be most affected by the new restriction.

Station Magazine understands that this development means that travelers from these countries will either find it very difficult to get a visa to come into the US or they will have a shorter in duration in their stay if the rates don’t decline.

The administration is also looking at eliminating the granting of work authorization for the spouses of some high skilled H1-B visa holders and to set a maximum length of stay for student visas.
