As YouNeek Studios work to break boundaries with its Animation Series, “Queen Malika“, they have gotten the attention of many.
In a recent episode of CNN African Voices, the director and producer of the series share their motivation for going into such an audacious project.
“Malika” is produced by Anthill Studios with the executive producer as Niyi Akinmolayan and written and directed by Roye Okupe.
“Malika” the Protagonist was played by Adesua Etomi-Wellington. The animation also featured folks like Femi Branch, Deyemi Okanlowon, Sambasa Nzeribe, and Blossom Chukwujekwu.
According to the producer, Niyi Akinmolayan, “the teaser was meant to help him sell the comics for Roye Okupe, but when we finished it. It was too good for that. Meaning it could be much more than this. The potential was there”.
“We decided to try Kickstarter (a website that crowdfunds ideas) and raise money for an animated short”
The producer also shared the story of how he met Roye Okupe and what they intend to achieve with the project.
