Justice Walter Onnoghen, the embattled Chief Justice of the Federation has said that he deserved an apology for the way he was dragged to the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for allegedly failing to fully declare his assets.
The Chief Justice was suspected from office by President Muhammadu Buhari early this year for not declaring his assets.
Onnoghen said he deserves an apology since the government has failed to present any concrete evidence.
He described as hearsay, irrelevant, and useless, the pieces of evidence presented by the federal government to prove the case they have against him.
In the meantime, the federal government has stated that it is not after the suspected Justice because he had huge funds and assets in his disposal, but because he did not declare these assets as required by the law.
