The founder of online news agency Sahara Reporters, and the flagbearer of the African Action Congress (ACC) at the 2019 Presidential Election, Omoyele Sowore has been allegedly arrested by the State Security Service (DSS).
Sowore, in a distress tweet in the early hours of Saturday morning said: “DSS invades Sowore’s”.

This tweet has substantiated reports that the human rights activist and facilitator of #RevolutionNow has been picked up at his residence.
Sowore’s arrest is not unconnected to the call by the media practitioner for Nigerians to protest against bad government and carrying out a revolution.
This tweet and the continues silence of the DSS on the matter has prompted Nigerians on Social Media have been reacting to the issue.

See what Nigerians on Twitter are saying:
REVOLUTION is TREASON.#FreeSoworeNow but he should use his senses
You lost an election
Bros you with just 33,953 votes you were not even close.

If the IG of police can be instructed to say a protest is treason, then I can safely conclude that @MBuhari has no intention to step down from office after 2023.#FreeSoworeNow

Nigeria is in dire need of a new beginning. Every Nigerian has a constitutional right to Freedom of Speech & peaceful protest.
My brother @YeleSowore has only learnt his voice to our collective frustration as a people. The voices of the people must be heard.

I had no interest whatsoever in the #RevolutionNow struggle cause I believed all protest of such magnitude keeps throwing up hypocrites like the current party in power. But now, I've seen my silence or scepticism will only make me the next in line. #FreeSoworeNow #FreeDadiyataNow

A lot of talk about the arrest of #RevolutionNow conveyer and AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore. Arresting him in anticipation of a perceived ‘revolution’ isn’t the way to go.
Anyways, Wikipedia gives me an insight on the definition of revolution.#FreeSoworeNow pic.twitter.com/X6WRTNeYlz

The arrest of @YeleSowore is uncharitable, unkind, unecessary, uncalled for, unsustainable, indefensible and regrettable. I condemn this fascistic and Gestapo-like action by the DSS against him and I call for his immediate and unconditional release. #FreeSoworeNow #RevolutionNow
