Can MRI Technology Reduce Age Fraud? See Analysis On Age Falsification.

With the issue of age fraud has been a long time concern for the world football body, FIFA, especially as the final of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) takes place in Tanzania on Sunday.

The pertinent question is how the world football government is going about tackling the problem of age fraud.

Football’s world governing body Fifa introduced MRI scans in 2009 which they say can identify whether player is under 17.

However, there have been objections by stakeholders who claims that the tests cannot be solely used to determine someone’s age.

BBC Africa’s Muthoni Muchiri took a look at the issue.
