Watch Bolaji Kekere Ekun’s Horror Short Film “Call Me By My Name”

Filmmaker Bolaji Kekere-Ekun his opening Nollywood up to an even more scary genre of horror movies with his new short film, “Call me by my name”.

The short film brings to fore the modern expression of traditional African religion.

The project also tackles issues ranging from childhood trauma, infidelity, sex work and toxic masculinity.

The story centers around a traumatized police detective who is trying to solve a murder. As the film goes on, we become privy to his dangerous misogyny, as he physically and sexually assaults the deceased’s wife he is questioning.

His interaction with his suspect led to the reopening of his childhood wound and the reawaking of his childhood trauma.

This short story actually requires a lot of courage to see and appreciate.
