Bose Omolayo, a Paralympic Powerlifter, has once again brought Nigeria to the world map with her consistency over the years.
She has been shortlisted by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) as the ‘Athlete of the Month’ for the month of July.
Omolayo is vying for the prize alongside four other athletes, who have also been remarkable in the past month.
IPC says it is considering Omolayo for the award because of the two feet she made possible in the month of July.
Firstly, she beat China’s Xu Lili, who was considered the strongest athlete, by successfully pushing a 142kg lift – smashing the world record in the process.
Omolayo, also crowned that by winning her first world title at the World Championships held in Kazakhstan in July.
