Nigerian Man Becomes First Africa To Be Elected Into The Legislature in Alberta Province In Canada

A Nigerian Man, Kelechi Madu, has made his mark in history after becoming the first Nigerian and  African to be elected to the Alberta Provincial Legislature, Canada.

Madu, 45, a Nigerian immigrant, graduated with a bachelor of laws from the University of Lagos. He migrated to Canada in 2005 with his wife who enrolled in postgraduate studies at the University of Alberta.

Archer joined the premier’s office communication team in 2015 and was Transportation Minister Brian Mason’s press secretary.

Station Magazine understands tha Madu’s  UCP scored votes of 7,742 ahead of his closest rival John Archer of NDP who pulled 6,974.
