Lagos Gatekeeper Turns Down House Gift From His Boss For A Borehole In His Community

A Lagos based gatekeeper, who hails from Giljimmi in Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa State, has done the unexpected, by rejecting a house given to him by his boss for a borehole in his water deprived community.

Musa Usman, who had served his boss an Indian, V. Verghese, the MD of a pharmaceutical company in Lagos for 25 years turned down the gift of a house for a borehole in his community to ease the pain of his people.

According to him, his community is suffering from acute water shortage and residents had to trek a long distance to get water.

In appreciation for his deligence, Verghese had offered to build his former gatekeeper a house for his years of service.

According to Daily Trust, Usman thanked Verghese for the gift, adding that he had no regrets rejecting the house offer.
