Nigerian-Canadian Professor, Professor Pius Adesanmi has been confirmed among those who lost their lives on the ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines Plane on Sunday.
The plan which was on a routine flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi reported crashed shortly after take-off.
Prof. Pius Adesanmi, alongside another Nigerian Amb. Abiodun Bashua were confirmed dead in the crash that killed 157 persons on board.
”He was the former UN and AU Deputy Joint Special Representative in Darfur, Sudan. A complete gentleman. May God rest his soul, ” the airline said in a message.
It also confirmed that another Nigerian, Prof. Pius Adesanmi, who used his Canadian passport was on board of the ill-fated aircraft.
“We hereby confirm that our scheduled flight ET 302 from Addis Ababa to Nairobi was involved in an accident today,” it said.
Disheartened by the news of the death of the erudite, prominent social media folks expressed dismay about the death of the professor who they described as a luminary.

News of the death of Prof Pius Adesanmi is a rude shock. The world has lost an excellent being. I commiserate with his family, friends and loved ones.
