American Billionaire and founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, and wife Priscilla Chan, have stated that they will be steering their wealth toward their philanthropist initiative.
The couple spoke about what their initiative, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), in their first-ever joint network TV interview with “CBS this Morning” with co-host, Gayle King on Tuesday.
The Businessman revealed how he edited a letter he crafted to announcing the new initiative, just days after the birth of their first daughter, Max.
Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) will be dedicating 99 per cent of their personal wealth to programmes that focus on medicine, education and technology.
They said that were determined to helping the medical field find a cure to every disease in the world.
Zuckerberg said: “There are a lot of philanthropies that try to bring capital, right? And help fund important work. But there aren’t that many that have the capability to build tools to empower different folks who are on the front lines”.
“Teachers, doctors, scientists — we don’t have the right tools to do that. And Mark has such incredible experience of building tools,” Chan added.
