The eyes of the world have been on the French Capital, Paris, as the world witnessed the massive inferno that engulfed one of the country’s oldest architectural edifice, The Cathedral of Notre-Dame.

Despite the effort of Firefighters, reports have it that the roof of the iconic structure collapsed in the incident.

The spokesperson for of country fire service has stated that efforts are been made to ensure the safety of the artworks stored at the back of the cathedral, which had been undergoing renovations, and preventing the collapse of its northern tower.

There have been no confirmed deaths or reported injuries, but 400 firefighters are working to put out the fire.

The Building, which is the most famous landmarks in Paris, drawing about 13 million visitors a year.

According to reports the fire started in the early hours of Monday.
