Photos: Ogun State Celebrates The African Rhythm Through The African Drum Festival

Ogun State was agog with fun activities as Drum groups from across the continent have converged in the state for the African Drum Festival.

This is the fourth in the series of the festival, which took place in Abeokuta the state capital of Ogin state

The festival hosted participates from some countries in Africa including Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Kenya, Uganda, Congo and several regions of Nigeria.

According to BBC Africa, the event saw the inauguration of a museum at the ancestral home of the Kuti family which produced Afrobeat legend Fela.

The Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, who was part of the celebration stated that the essence of the festival, which is to celebrate the rhythms of Africa was important to the African culture.

Station Magazine understands that the festival, which is geared towards cultural integration and unity, is fast becoming a tourist attraction with visitors from all over Africa.
