In celebration of African literary works and the magic of African storytelling, Princess Irede Abumere of BBC Africa is reviewing books by African writers.

On its new episode, The African Book Club examined the debut work of Zimbabwe author, Novuyo Rosa Tshuma, “House of Stone”.

Abumere reviewed the book alongside book lover and Digital Marketing specialist Franklyne Ikediasor.

The story centers around the life of Zumani, a 24 years old orphan of war, who aspires to make his landlord his father and his landlady his mother – to make them love him more than they loved their missing son, Bukhosi

The story exemplifies the reality that sometimes, the situation can make good people do terrible things.
