Nigerian musician Naira Marley (real name Afeez Fashola), was on Thursday, arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday.
The reason for his arrest is not unconnected to Naira Marley’s support for internet fraud in an Instagram post.
“All you guys, all the money in your pockets, all the money you spend, you think it’s the government that is making the money go round?” Naira Marley had said in an Instagram Live session.
Nigerians on social media have reacted to the arrest of the artist.
In the wake of the artist arrest, the Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission released a statement stating the reason for the fast-rising artist’s arrest.
Read the statement, which was made available to the member of the public on the commission’s Twitter handle.

Naira Marley is so daft to think it's the money from fraudsters that's running Nigeria economy.
What does he know about the Nigeria economy?
When a stack uneducated illiterate comes to limelight via a window of opportunity, it's difficult to let them learn and relearn.
