Netflix Partners EbonyLife Film To Produce The Screen Adoption Of Wole Soyinka Play

Netflix has announced that it is partnering with Ebony Life Film for the series adoption of some Classic Nigerian literature.

The selected literary works to be adapted for the screen includes, Wole Soyinka’s “Death and the King’s Horseman” and Lola Shoneyin “The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives”

The online streaming platform made this development known via its Nigerian Twitter handle, in the early hours of Friday.

Netflix also hinted that it will be working with Mo Abudu, the founder of EbonyFilms to produce to more original Nigerian series.

A series-adaptation of @LolaShoneyin‘sThe Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives and a film-adaptation of Prof. Wole Soyinka’s Death And The King’s Horseman!

In her response to the news via her twitter handle, Mo Abudu expressed delight to the new partnership, stating that EbonyLife Films will be the first production company in Africa to seal such deals with Netflix.
